Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a purchasing or similar role in procurement and inventory management and vendor negotiations, to include contract and cost negotiation and ability to read and understand contract terms and conditions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing orders, invoices, and reports
- Strong computer skills and high proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and MRP systems such as SAP or similar
- Possess a strong understanding of supply chain management theory
- Excellent verbal and written communication and follow-up skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and proactively identify and exceed customer expectations - both internal and external
- A proactive mindset—you don’t just spot problems; you help solve them
Nice To Haves
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems
- Exposure to vendor negotiations, inventory control, or supply chain theory
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
Responsibilities
- Assisting in purchasing raw materials, components, and services for production
- Communicating with vendors to track orders, confirm delivery timelines, and resolve issues
- Supporting price negotiations and contract reviews alongside senior buyers
- Maintaining accurate records of purchase orders and vendor information
- Monitoring stock levels and helping forecast inventory needs
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams like Engineering, Accounting, and R&D
