As a Buyer, you will be responsible for owning and driving all facets of product assortment, financial planning, and vendor partnerships of the category with strong collaboration with their integrated cross-functional team. This role involves developing strong vendor partnerships, collaborating with suppliers on product development, and managing program aspects like co-op, vendor allowances, and promotional strategies. The Buyer will negotiate pricing, terms, and opportunity buys, oversee communication with Stores and Distribution Centers, and partner with Logistics for efficient product flow. They will also visit stores to understand challenges and stay abreast of market dynamics and competition. Key responsibilities include managing product pricing, sales, and profit margins, identifying new product opportunities, conducting category reviews, and developing seasonal merchandise assortments with pricing and merchandising plans. The role also involves placing and tracking new store orders, providing input to Inventory Analysts, monitoring seasonal product performance, maintaining knowledge of sales and inventory trends, generating reports for decision-making, completing assortment planning, and collaborating on financial plans. Optimizing 'in stock' levels for basic items and identifying/reducing poor-performing inventory are also crucial. The Buyer will develop and submit advertising and promotional plans, ensure accuracy in print advertising, and collaborate with the Digital Aisle Team on assortment, placement, promotions, and marketing strategies. Additionally, they will provide direction to Store Planning for planograms, ensuring they are appropriate for store volume and space. The Buyer is expected to lead the team to drive sales, manage inventory, and achieve financial goals, creating and communicating a strategic vision, inspiring and mentoring the team, and leading impactful projects. They will also exemplify leadership principles, use discretion and independent judgment, participate in learning initiatives, and provide professional internal and external support. This position has supervisory responsibilities.
