About The Position

The Buyer position is responsible for procuring direct and indirect purchases and managing commercial matters with the supply base. Key responsibilities include management of the sourcing process, controlling commercial relationships with the supply base and being responsible for their overall performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor and above degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance or related field.
  • Prior buying experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced English oral and written skills.
  • 2+ years of purchasing experience in the auto industry.
  • Familiar with purchasing processes in the auto industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and skills managing supplier commercial matters, negotiations, supplier quality, troubleshooting, standard legal terms, etc.
  • Proficient with PC and Office tools.
  • High level of professionalism and accountability.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Committed to high quality work and guide team for quality work.
  • Experienced in problem solving with a cross functional approach.
  • Solid sense of ownership with ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous work-streams.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for direct and indirect commodities and services.
  • Negotiate supplier commercial matters including piece price, supply agreements, payment terms, standard terms and cost reductions.
  • Manage sourcing activities for commodities by conducting competitive bidding events with suppliers and recommending suppliers to internal stakeholders.
  • Responsible for tactical commodity activities such as processing POs, supplier adds/changes and payments.
  • Develop and motivate the supply base by rewarding high performance with new business opportunities to foster healthy relationships.
  • Support data management process improvement activities (such as ERP/SRM/Portal), including master supplier data, supplier scorecard and spend analytics.
  • Develop and execute commodity strategies that drive improved overall performance and competitiveness through the supply chain, with a focus on electric drive module (EDM) and sub-assembly components like the motor, PIM, and transmission.
  • Follow the JJENA Code of Ethics, abide by all relevant laws, regulations and company policies, and avoid any inappropriate behavior with suppliers, and support an open and fair environment.
