The Buyer is responsible for supplier coordination and procurement activities related to specific turnkey customers, ensuring suppliers receive necessary purchasing documentation and maintaining system data integrity to support strategic objectives. This role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to enhance procurement processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in business management, supply chain, procurement, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years in purchasing within the cosmetic, fragrance, or chemical turnkey manufacturing industry.
  • 1-3 years working with ERP systems, including MRP, JIT, Kanban, or VMI planning and procurement processes.
  • 1-3 years hands-on experience with Epicor, JD Edwards, AS400, Excel, Access, and other Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with suppliers to fulfill purchasing needs and maintain working relationships.
  • Provide suppliers with necessary purchasing documentation, such as purchase orders and regular reports.
  • Review and respond to MRP exception reports to ensure material availability and alignment with production schedules.
  • Ensure purchasing data accuracy and consistency in systems to support efficient procurement processes.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders while ensuring timely follow-ups for shipments and deliveries.
  • Monitor supplier performance and support continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement.
  • Track and communicate key performance indicators related to purchasing activities.
  • Support product launches and special projects by coordinating procurement for turnkey customers.
  • Assist with inventory assessments, including excess and obsolete materials, and take appropriate action.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including Planning and Materials, to align procurement with production needs.
  • Facilitate communication with suppliers regarding lead times, order status, and any necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate on initiatives to enhance procurement strategies for turnkey customers.
  • Participate in meetings to provide updates on purchasing activities and material availability.
