About The Position

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team. This role is critical in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of a wide range of materials and components used in our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple material product categories, strong negotiation skills, and a collaborative mindset.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in a Buyer or Procurement role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies and supplier management.
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), SAP preferred.
Proven purchasing experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Experience negotiating contractual items with suppliers including: price, terms, VMI, etc.
Strong organizational skills with a bias toward action.
Effective oral communication skills and written communication skills.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Working knowledge of the legal aspects of procurement and contract law.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

APICS certification in Production and Inventory Management preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for a variety of goods and services to support manufacturing operations.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Collaborate with inventory and production teams to maintain optimal stock levels and avoid shortages or overstock.
Issue purchase orders, manage expedite needs, monitor order status, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, volume leverage, and supplier consolidation.
Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to align procurement with project timelines and specifications.
Monitor trends, material availability, and pricing fluctuations to inform purchasing decisions.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies.
Maintain accurate procurement records and provide regular reports on supplier performance, cost savings, and procurement KPIs.
