About The Position

Tyto Athene is searching for a Buyer. This position is responsible for medium to high complexity material and software procurement actions for new business proposals and for ongoing programs. Successful candidate must be an excellent communicator to coordinate and collaborate with suppliers and company professionals from various disciplines; have a willingness to learn new skills and apply them confidently in day-to-day processes; is required to use problem-solving techniques to address unique procurement requests that impact critical support requirements; have experience supporting government procurement system compliance, prime contract flow downs, supplier quality, and supplier teaming to achieve successful results; and have experience working with price analysis methodologies.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree coupled with 4-8 years of business experience; OR a master’s degree with 2-6 years of experience; OR a HS Diploma coupled with 8+ years of business experience.
  • Prior experience procuring on behalf of the government is required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel skills.
  • CostPoint experience
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to complete milestones and work toward multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Highly organized with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Attention to details and problem-solving skills.

  • CPSR experience
  • Familiarity with FAR, DFAR and GSA Schedules

Responsibilities

  • Develop and issue solicitations in support of proposals and on-contract growth in accordance with company policy and program/proposal requirements.
  • Develop and negotiate favorable prices on procurements, including related terms, schedules and other provisions of purchase orders, ensuring consistency with customer requirements and procurement policies/procedures under supervisor guidance.
  • Perform purchase order administration/file maintenance, supplier customer management, and closeout for all procurement-related activities.
  • Perform oversight on all awarded purchase orders until delivery/completion of goods/services.
  • Coordinate and prioritize activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Recruit and maintain responsive suppliers providing high quality products and services at fair and reasonable prices.
  • Conduct price and cost analyses.
  • Review proposals and select or recommend suppliers based on gathered information and customer requirements.
  • Recommend improvements to procurement processes and procedures.
