About The Position
VEGA Americas, Inc. is seeking a Buyer for a 6-month contract position in Mason, OH, from May 2026 to December 2026. This full-time role requires hands-on purchasing experience within the electronics or manufacturing industry, with a focus on supplier sourcing, evaluations, negotiations, bid reviews, cost analysis, and vendor selection. The ideal candidate will be comfortable reviewing bids, analyzing cost proposals, and selecting best-fit vendors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 4–6 years of related technical or purchasing experience (or equivalent combination).
- Strong knowledge of electronic components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Purchasing experience within the electronics industry preferred.
Nice To Haves
- CPIM or CSCP certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers to support capacity needs, competitiveness, and innovation.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with cost optimization, risk mitigation, and organizational goals.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, leading negotiations on pricing, contracts, terms, and multi‑year agreements.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, quality, and finance to support Local-to-Local sourcing initiatives.
- Review and compare vendor bids, cost proposals, and pricing to recommend award decisions that meet cost and quality standards.
- Work with vendors to clarify technical requirements, including dimensions, tolerances, and finishes.
- Participate in supplier audits and re-evaluations in partnership with the quality team.
