About The Position

The Buyer position is part of the Purchasing & Logistics department and is a full-time role working 80 hours per two-week pay period. This position is responsible for sourcing, ordering, and tracking medical and non-medical supplies to support hospital operations. The Buyer manages requisitions, purchase orders, inventory, and vendor records while ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement in compliance with organizational policies. The role works closely with internal departments and vendors to maintain appropriate supply levels and support daily operations. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an office setting, preferably in purchasing or accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, and other computer applications.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and contract terminology.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • One to three years of purchasing or supply chain experience preferred, ideally in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Process supply requisitions and generate purchase orders for hospital departments.
  • Track orders and maintain inventory levels in sterile and non-sterile supply locations.
  • Maintain accurate records for items, pricing, vendors, and inventory counts.
  • Assist with vendor communication and support contract compliance.
  • Monitor purchasing activity to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
  • Participate in year-end inventory counts and other departmental projects as assigned.
  • Follow organizational policies and procedures related to purchasing and logistics.
