About The Position
North American Lighting Inc., member of the Koito Group of Companies, is the largest tier one automotive exterior lighting manufacturer in North America. As the market share leader in exterior automotive lighting, NAL provides advanced lighting technology, engineering design expertise, and state-of-the-art production capabilities to auto makers based in North America and around the world. North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in negotiating supplier contracts that meet or exceed supply, material quality, and commercial goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline, plus 0-2 years of experience in purchasing or related function OR Associate’s degree in Business or a related discipline and 2-4 years of professional experience in purchasing.
Responsibilities
- Purchases production materials, components, equipment, tooling, MRO items, and service utilizing new and/or existing suppliers.
- Drafts sourcing recommendations for award summarizing the bid history and justifies the selection of awarded bidder.
- Works with Supplier Quality Engineering for source selection.
- Supports new program launch activities, and participates in design process reviews.
- Opens and closes orders as needed to maintain inventory levels.
