About The Position

The Buyer I plays a key role in expanding product selection and enabling successful new product launches by setting up new vendors and items, maintaining the product catalog, and managing pricing. This position works at the intersection of innovation and execution, collaborating closely with engineering, product development, and supply chain partners to turn early-stage product concepts into tangible solutions and scalable procurement strategies.

Requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in vendor setup, product catalog maintenance, and pricing management.

  • Experience with ERP systems, such as Oracle, SAP, or EBS, for procurement, purchasing, and inventory management activities.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles, including procurement, purchase orders, MRP, and inventory processes.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective vendor relationships and collaborate with engineering, product development, and supply chain partners.
  • Comfort working in a highly demanding environment where teamwork, agility, and ownership are critical.
  • Ability to use data to drive decisions, support innovation, and improve procurement and supply chain processes.

  • Understanding of data management and databases to support accurate and efficient handling of product and purchasing information.
  • Familiarity with global operations and robotics-related supply chains is beneficial.
  • Experience in buyer or purchasing roles involving ERP, procurement, and inventory management is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Set up new vendors and items to support product expansion and ensure accurate onboarding into internal systems.
  • Maintain the product catalog, including product cost, retail price, content, and images, to ensure information is current, accurate, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Coordinate and support new product launches by partnering with engineering, product development, and supply chain teams to meet program timelines and business requirements.
  • Manage and update pricing data, including cost and retail price, in alignment with sourcing strategies and procurement policies.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to support sourcing strategies, product availability, and quality standards.
  • Assist with special projects related to procurement, supply chain management, and inventory, contributing data analysis and process improvements.
  • Support and provide training as a backup to the Control Buyer, ensuring continuity of purchasing and inventory control activities.
  • Use ERP systems (such as Oracle, SAP, EBS) to create and manage purchase orders, track inventory, and maintain procurement records.
  • Leverage Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) to analyze data, prepare reports, create presentations, and maintain documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to shape sourcing strategies and influence design decisions for new products.
  • Navigate ambiguity and solve complex supply chain challenges, ensuring procurement activities align with program timelines and business outcomes.
  • Act with urgency and ownership in a highly demanding yet collegial environment where teamwork and mutual respect are essential.
  • Apply data management and database understanding to improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility of purchasing and inventory information.
