Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in similar capacity
- Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
- Time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent safety record
Nice To Haves
- Purchasing/Production experience is an asset
- Knowledge of shipping/receiving processes for manufacturing is an asset
Responsibilities
- Review, inspect and approve new vendors
- Network, foster and establish working, accountable relationships with vendors
- Negotiate, monitor and manage vendor performance to ensure the ‘best value’ (quality, cost and schedule) is being attained
- Continuously explore new vendor relationships to provide benefit to the company
- Provide management with Corporate purchasing opportunities
- Promote workplace safety and create a safe and secure work environment to protect the health and safety of all workers
- Comply to all safety regulations, policies and procedures
- Other duties as required
