Our employees thrive in a fast-paced environment with daily opportunities for career advancement. This Buyer role will support Purchasing, Sales, Manufacturing, and Engineering departments. The position focuses on developing and maintaining supply chains for prototype and pilot stages, optimizing costs, logistics, and delivery within our global supply base. Key responsibilities include project management for supplier changes, outsourcing, and cost optimization projects, with clear communication to stakeholders regarding component status and project timelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, or Supply Chain related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Purchasing, Engineering, or Manufacturing environment required.
- Must be able to read engineering drawings and understand technical specifications.
- Knowledge of PPAP process and preventive quality tools.
- Proactive, thorough, detail-oriented, self-motivated, a strong team player, able to prioritize multiple tasks, and takes initiative.
- Excellent project management skills required.
- Effective and creative problem-solving skills and time management/prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact well with other internal departments as well as suppliers.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Advanced Excel preferred.
- Experience with SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities
- Execution of new product and cost savings projects, achieving targets for external procurement (Quality, Cost, Delivery).
- Serve as the Purchasing representative in Simultaneous Engineering teams and in saving, outsourcing, and localization projects, managing outsourcing subprojects.
- Apply project management methodology and interdisciplinary moderation.
- Conduct inquiries for new parts and initiate pre-sourcing meetings for supplier pre-selection.
- Carry out preventive quality measures with suppliers.
- Procurement of prototypes (ABC samples) and initial samples.
- Technical release of suppliers/parts in accordance with Supplier Quality Management processes.
- Ensure sustainable quality through preventive QA measures in projects involving new assignments and relocations.
- Control initial sample release (dimensions, function, material, process).
- Monitor the start of serial production until project handover to Commodity Purchasing and Scheduling.
- Manage change management processes.
- Drive innovation management by connecting Rexroth with the supplier market.
- Negotiate project-specific contracts (SE contract, confidentiality, concept competition).
- Ensure early involvement of the purchasing department in projects.
- Conduct technology observation of the procurement market and competition, initiating projects as appropriate.
