About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Buyer. This position is ONSITE Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm at our Greenwood SC Eaton facility. The Buyer is responsible for maintaining required inventory levels; monitor and coordinate procurement of needed materials; develop and enhance computerized inventory systems as changing business needs dictate; coordinate the procurement of a large variety of complex materials and services to support plant requirements; develop appropriate product supply sources; review and negotiate purchase price, quality, and all other factors to ensure overall conformance of purchased materials. The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Greenwood facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position.
  • Basic knowledge of computerized inventory systems, scheduling techniques, general manufacturing, and ability to interpret drawings, prints and Microsoft office.
  • Experience reporting to leadership and cross functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, presentation, and customer service skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply chain management, Business Administration, or Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Purchasing/buying experience and Planning Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in a custom order engineering environment
  • SAP or AS400 experience
  • Basic knowledge of MRP systems

Responsibilities

  • Execute procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials to support plant production requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify new and alternate sources of supply to ensure continuity, mitigate risk, and meet operational demand.
  • Award, administer, and manage purchase orders and supplier agreements in accordance with company policies, procedures, and established procurement contracts.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice holds and price or quantity discrepancies to ensure timely supplier payment and prevent supply interruptions.
  • Create and escalate supply-related issues within the GPS system, ensuring timely and effective communication of risks and constraints to leadership.
  • Maintain inventory levels aligned with targeted objectives and production requirements.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional problem-solving efforts to remove supply constraints, partnering with operations, quality, and engineering teams.
  • Support supply chain projects, enterprise initiatives, and continuous commodity improvement efforts as assigned.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and suppliers to drive performance, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct quality audits of new and existing suppliers to assess product specifications, materials, and compliance with procurement requirements.
  • Conduct supplier site visits and meetings at company locations to review product specifications, delivery performance, and improvement opportunities.
