About The Position

The Buyer coordinates the purchase of commodities in alignment with approved buying programs, using trade judgment and adhering to established procurement policies. Responsible for supplier selection and leading competitive bidding for goods and services.

Responsibilities

  • Administers procurement processes, ensuring that purchasing requirements are met in accordance with company guidelines and customer needs.
  • Analyzes somewhat complex procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve sourcing strategies across different product categories.
  • Applies knowledge of supplier management, sourcing strategies and procurement practices to handle purchasing requests efficiently.
  • Completes purchase orders and verifies delivery schedules, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contract terms and organizational expectations.
  • Supports / leads routine supplier evaluations to assess performance and ensure consistency in the quality and timeliness of deliveries.
  • Coordinates somewhat complex procurement requests, working with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve any issues that arise and optimize supply chain efficiency.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve procurement processes, offering suggestions and collaborating with Senior Buyers to implement best practices and new strategies.
  • Recommends supplier selections based on an analysis of cost, quality and reliability, and helps negotiate contracts within the defined scope of authority.
  • Documents procurement activities, maintaining accurate records and reports to support internal audits and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
