The Buyer plays a critical role within Auxly’s maturing procurement function by ensuring accurate planning inputs, reliable global supply continuity, and strong data governance. The role is responsible for day‑to‑day MRP execution, demand forecasting alignment, long‑lead‑time materials coordination, and supplier performance management—particularly with overseas suppliers where planning horizons and logistics complexities are elevated.

Requirements

  • 3+ years procurement/supply chain experience in manufacturing, CPG, or similar operational environments.
  • Strong MRP planning experience, including running and interpreting MRP for long-lead-time materials.
  • Experience working with international suppliers, import processes, and extended supply chains.
  • Solid understanding of forecast management, demand planning, and inventory optimization.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Sheets and ERP systems.
  • Strong supplier relationship and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Run, interpret, and action MRP signals, ensuring timely procurement of materials with both short and extended lead times (8+ weeks).
  • Manage the procurement cycle for overseas suppliers, accounting for production lead time, ocean/air transit, customs clearance, and safety stock coverage.
  • Review MRP exceptions daily and coordinate adjustments to purchase plans.
  • Collaborate with Planning to validate demand signals, lead times, minimum order quantities, and forecast shifts—ensuring all inputs driving MRP are reliable and updated.
  • Conduct forward-looking analysis to prevent shortages tied to long manufacturing cycles or international logistics risks.
  • Partner closely with Supply & Production Planning to ensure forecasts are translated into actionable supply plans, especially for multi-month lead time items.
  • Assess forecast variability and consumption trends to proactively adjust future orders for long‑lead materials.
  • Contribute to monthly S&OP/pre-S&OP sessions with updated supply positions, risk flags, and plan adjustments.
  • Validate overseas supplier capacity to meet forecasted demand and communicate expected constraints back to Planning.
  • Monitor and report forecast accuracy, with a focus on materials where forecast quality heavily influences supply continuity.
  • Manage tactical procurement activities with international suppliers, including ordering, expediting, and shipping coordination.
  • Monitor global supply chain risks (port congestion, currency fluctuations, customs delays) and escalate proactively.
  • Work with logistics partners to ensure accurate freight bookings, on-time vessel departures, and timely customs clearances.
  • Maintain country-of-origin documentation and compliance with import requirements.
  • Issue accurate POs with correct pricing, UOM, incoterms, landed cost factors, and required documentation for overseas shipments.
  • Ensure P2P alignment with Auxly’s compliance standards and audit expectations.
  • Resolve invoice-related issues, including freight discrepancies, duties, and landed cost elements.
  • Maintain strong communication cadence with overseas suppliers, addressing delays, capacity constraints, and production updates.
  • Monitor supplier performance for on-time delivery, responsiveness, quality issues, and adherence to contractual terms.
  • Support global supplier risk assessments (geopolitical, transportation, financial stability).
  • Maintain accurate lead times, freight methods, and landed cost factors for international suppliers in ERP.
  • Ensure item, supplier, and BOM data remain up to date to support accurate MRP outputs.
  • Support continuous data accuracy improvements as part of Auxly’s procurement maturity roadmap.
  • Conduct cost analyses including landed cost modeling (freight, duty, surcharges).
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities related to volume planning, freight mode optimization, or supplier diversification.
  • Support competitive bidding and evaluation of global supply options.
