About The Position

Koniag Government Services, LLC is seeking a Buyer to join its Shared Services Division. This role is responsible for executing procurement activities to support direct federal programs, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services. The Buyer must adhere to prime contract requirements, company policies, and federal regulations like FAR and DFARS. This position operates remotely and involves close collaboration with Operations/Program teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful contract performance.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required due to Federal contractual obligation.
  • Team player willing to ensure projects are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasking and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of procurement experience supporting direct federal procurements.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, professional training, and progressively responsible procurement experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working for a Small Business and/or 8(a), ANC is a plus.
  • JAMIS Prime ERP Accounting System experience preferred.
  • Industry-specific training and/or certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures affecting Federal Government Contractor Purchasing Systems and ensuring successful Government review is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in support of federal prime contracts.
  • Source and evaluate vendors to ensure best value, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure all procurement actions comply with FAR/DFARS, and company procurement policies.
  • Obtain and analyze vendor quotes, negotiate pricing and terms when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate procurement files and documentation to support audits and compliance reviews.
  • Track and manage purchase orders, ensuring on-time delivery and resolving delays or discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with program managers, project controllers, and accounting/finance teams to align procurement activities with project schedules.
  • Support subcontractor and supplier onboarding, including required documentation and compliance checks.
  • Assist with the resolution of supplier invoice/payment issues.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement risks that may impact contract performance.
  • Other organizational projects as assigned.
