Requirements

Research, analyze, and negotiate pricing to cost-effectively acquire quality materials and equipment.
Place purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to meet customer work order requirements.
Maintain appropriate stock inventory levels.
Qualify and determine which vendors provide the greatest value regarding price, quality, and on-time delivery.
Report metrics to the production planning team.
Place and manage purchase orders, keeping delivery dates in line with Organizational deadlines.
Confirm expected ship and delivery dates with vendors.
Maintain knowledge and proficiency in all aspects of the material management system.
Maintain working knowledge of finance practices and procedures that interface with the material management system.
Collaboration with other departments to coordinate material handling, delivery, and distribution of material products.
Work with the finance department in relation to supplier information, cost analysis, purchase orders, and resolving invoicing issues.
Perform other buyer/inventory related duties as requested.
