About The Position

This is a prospective opportunity within TJX Merchandising. TJX is seeking individuals interested in future career opportunities in Merchandising. The role involves identifying and purchasing brand name and designer merchandise for the entire family and home, capitalizing on various opportunities such as department store cancellations, overproduction by manufacturers, and end-of-season closeouts. The goal is to offer customers high-quality, fashionable, and on-trend merchandise at prices significantly lower than full-price retailers. The company also designs some of its own products and sources globally for unique items.

Requirements

Previous Buyer experience
Track record of driving sales results and executing successful buying strategies
Strong analytical, financial, strategic, and planning skills
Exceptional negotiating skills
Entrepreneurial mindset with a comfort level in taking measurable risks
Strong communication, relationship-building, and team collaboration skills
Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

Hunt for the hottest brand name and designer merchandise throughout the year.
Negotiate the best possible prices for merchandise.
Take advantage of various buying opportunities including department store cancellations, manufacturer overproduction, and end-of-season closeouts.
Offer customers high quality, fashionable, brand name, and designer merchandise at prices 20%-60% less than full-price retailers.
Ensure merchandise is on-trend and current season styles.
Source merchandise globally and work with artists and manufacturers to create unique products.
Offer customers a desirable and rapidly changing mix of high quality merchandise at amazing values.
