About The Position

The Buyer, Procurement supports procurement activity across Carvana’s business. The role identifies and sources business needs, collects and analyzes data, assembles and publishes reports, executes purchasing activities and vendor engagements, and supports Category Managers and management. It is a full onsite position at Carvana’s headquarters in Tempe, Arizona. Candidates must be located in the Phoenix area and able to commute to the office daily.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a relevant field, or at least 2 years of procurement experience.
• Experience with Coupa, leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and/or dedicated e-procurement platforms.
• Ability to communicate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to be detail-oriented and ensure accuracy.
• Ability to follow through on tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to quickly adjust to changing priorities.
• Ability to navigate and understand situations and identify opportunities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to organize workload efficiently, manage multiple initiatives, and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to problem-solve effectively.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Own the purchase order (PO) procurement process to ensure efficient fulfillment.
• Maintain the status of open requests and orders and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
• Help establish, maintain, and adhere to procurement budgets.
• Review vendor performance data and contribute to vendor engagement strategy.
• Learn, adapt, and solve problems as they arise.
• Develop the ability to manage vendors independently and eventually manage a spend category.
