We invite you to explore our opportunities and grow your career with us. Buyer-Planners are responsible to maintain efficient supply chain operations by having the right amount of inventory on hand. Their predictions help the company avoid having too little inventory, which causes shortages, and too much inventory, which can result in a lack of space or tie up too much money. They crunch numbers, monitor inventory and make predictions to determine how much stock to have on hand, which can fluctuate frequently due to changes in demand.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED
Knowledgeable of manufacturing resource planning process
Knowledge of production, materials, and inventory workflow
Experience in manufacturing and MRP system

Responsibilities

Tracking the company’s current inventory.
Analyzing available data from demand planning, inventory reports and other resources.
Recommending changes to the way the company handles inventory.
Anticipating factors that might influence demand, such as seasonal slowdowns or upcoming promotions.
Managing the storage of inventory and materials.
Maintaining enough inventory to meet demands without overstocking.
Collaborating with operations, production and other supply chain department team members.
Negotiating with vendors and suppliers.
Understand cause of issues & recommend/implement solutions using Root Cause / Corrective Analysis.
Manage more challenging and complex suppliers.
Maintain responsibility for monitoring/creating purchase requisitions, on a daily basis, for appropriate vendors through SAP/Oracle-MRP system and converting requisitions to purchase orders.
Lead all aspects of production scheduling, working with manufacturing and business partners from OCD, raw material purchasing.
Cross-train to backfill a few other select areas in Planning and/or Purchasing.
Ensure compliance with the companies Purchasing Policies and Procedures, Code of Ethics, Values and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
Interface with production, sales, purchasing and suppliers to schedule purchase orders of raw material to meet production demand.
Supporting and providing the coordination of the material planning, purchasing and production scheduling function to ensure timely delivery to customers of finished products.

Purchase finished goods from outside suppliers in accordance to MRP requirements and customer orders required dates.
Confirm supplier delivery dates for purchasing material and expedite orders when necessary
