About The Position

As a Buyer/Planner at MAHLE, you will be responsible to oversee the supplier/subcontractor contract negotiations, issue purchase orders and /or EDI releases for materials/services, and supplier relationship management. This is a very visible role and the face/voice of MAHLE to our supply base. Highly analytical and able to influence action by conducting analysis, negotiate contracts with suppliers, manage an inventory, interface with quality on issues with stock and work within a budget. Time-management is a strength as some projects may see tight time deadlines and changing priorities which may generate high-stress. You desire to work as a team in offering the best possible alternatives, assist in resolving supplier issues and support a lean culture by ensuring supplier orders are transparent, allow for efficient inventory turns and service responsiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or related field or 8 years of direct experience in similar role and industry in lieu of education.
  • 2 years of direct related experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills in SAP.
  • Problem Solver - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and ability to identify and anticipate stock issues.
  • Ability to write and present detailed reports.
  • Self-motivated and self-starter, enjoy a challenge and always wanting to find a better way.
  • Excellent attention to detail, conscientious and diligent.
  • Promotes and follows the business unit’s Core Efforts and Values.
