About The Position
FM Industries is a premier manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build to print, precision machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings. We provide customers with leading-edge support from prototype to production. This role involves processing and following up on Out-Process subcontract orders under the direct supervision of the Purchasing Manager. The position requires close collaboration with suppliers, technical staff, and program management to ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase orders and resolution of any discrepancies.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 2 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Intermediate computer and software skills, including Excel and Outlook.
- Experience utilizing an ERP system.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Contract Manufacturing industries preferred.
- Epicor Vantage or SAP preferred.
Responsibilities
- Process and follow up on Out-Process subcontract orders.
- Issue purchase orders for Out-Process subcontractors using information from job travelers and instructions from Program Managers.
- Confirm purchase orders and delivery dates.
- Work with Receiving, Quality, Engineering, and Accounting to resolve discrepancies and issues.
- Maintain follow-up responsibility with suppliers to ensure commitment dates are met.
- Provide support to team members as needed.
- Generate purchasing reports when required.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Successfully manage frequently changing priorities.
