About The Position

The Buyer – Maintenance, Repairs & Operations (MRO) plays a key role in executing Amy’s indirect procurement strategy through a balance of tactical execution and strategic sourcing responsibilities. This role manages assigned categories of operations & maintenance spend, manages supplier relationships and partners cross-functionally to ensure supply assurance, cost control, and alignment with Amy’s strategic goals. This role also directly supports the plant maintenance team by purchasing necessary parts and services, overseeing the parts storeroom, responsibility for inventory accuracy and managing spend to budget through competitive bids and weekly spend reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) from four-year college or university or equivalent experience in Procurement.
  • At least 2 years technical level expertise in principals of procurement in a production environment with demonstrated progression toward strategic responsibilities.
  • Technical level expertise in planning, negotiation and contracting for parts, services and/or materials.
  • Knowledge of Oracle ERP preferred.
  • Knowledge of CMMS platforms preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of category management, including spend analysis
  • Knowledge of indirect categories (e.g., MRO, facilities, office services) is a plus.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-moving ever-changing work environment

Responsibilities

  • Create purchase orders, track order status, and help resolve routine delivery or invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate supplier records and procurement data in D365/Dynaway, Oracle, Freshservice, and Smartsheet.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure alignment and service quality.
  • Identify and pursue cost-savings opportunities within assigned categories, including but not limited to competitive bids for high value maintenance parts & services, supporting RFx events and conducting supplier negotiations.
  • Partner with business units in maintenance, engineering & manufacturing to influence procurement decisions, provide sourcing options, and align indirect spend with business goals.
  • Receive & stock parts, supplies, repaired equipment or tools in MRO storeroom or to maintenance kitting area.
  • Maintain accurate parts inventory through proper receiving, organization of storeroom, ensuring compliance with parts check-out process and maintaining CMMS system with regular cycle counts.
  • Compare invoices & packing lists against requisitions to verify quality & quantity of merchandise received.
  • Support category management through market intelligence, competitive benchmarking, and spend analysis to identify strategic sourcing opportunities and supplier consolidation potential.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and innovations that may impact assigned categories, including ESG, risk, digital procurement, and automation tools.
  • Manage supplier relationships within assigned categories, facilitating business reviews, performance evaluations, and scorecard updates as indicated in the Indirect and MRO Supplier Relationship Programs.
  • Support supplier onboarding and contract lifecycle management, including renewals, amendments, and compliance tracking.
  • Maintain strong supplier-focused communication to ensure service quality, alignment on expectations, and compliance with Amy’s requirements.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder engagement by acting as a procurement advisor, ensuring supplier compliance, and facilitating clear communication.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and QA to align risk mitigation, audit readiness, and category-specific requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and enhanced reporting dashboards.
  • Support the implementation of sourcing best practices and tools.
  • Propose improvements to procurement processes, technology usage, and reporting dashboards to enhance visibility and operational efficiency.
