Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in forecasting inventory levels based on demand forecasts, sales trends, and production capabilities
  • Adept at placing purchase orders with both domestic and overseas suppliers, taking lead times, cost factors, and quality standards into account
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Keen ability to analyze actual results against forecasts
  • Familiarity with advanced planning systems, ERP tools, and MRP processes
  • Effective communication and collaboration with internal teams—such as customer service, sales, and product development

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize production plans
  • Forecast inventory levels
  • Manage the procurement of finished goods
  • Build robust relationships with global suppliers
  • Seamlessly coordinate with freight forwarders and brokers to secure container space and ensure smooth customs clearance processes
  • Facilitate requests from the Sales team for special programs and buys
  • Forecast inventory levels based on historical demand trends, sales trends, and production capabilities to ensure product availability while minimizing excess inventory
  • Place purchase orders with domestic and overseas suppliers, considering lead times, cost factors, and quality requirements
  • Manage relationships with overseas suppliers, ensuring timely and reliable delivery of goods, resolving issues, and optimizing costs
  • Monitor external factors-such as supplier delays and changes in economic or political situations and adjust production plans accordingly
  • Analyze actual results against forecasts, including sales, orders, shipments, and inventory levels, and identify areas for improvement
  • Utilize advanced planning systems and tools to optimize planning processes and enhance efficiency
  • Provide item set up and maintenance as necessary in ERP to ensure accuracy of reporting, including MRP which is used to analyze and plan procurement
  • Maintaining monthly container planning- monthly update overviews by style/color to assist suppliers with capacity planning
  • Manage and execute all freight movement from origin to delivery by working closely with freight forwarding partner. As well as ensuring all related costs are calculated and dispersed accordingly
  • Establish and maintain rapport with all levels of supplier personnel as well as internal customers such as customer service, sales, marketing, product development, quality, and distribution
  • Handle Sales requests for information for quotations and/or proposals
