About The Position

Join Hitachi Energy as a Buyer in Field Services and Spare Parts! We’re looking for a dynamic and motivated Buyer Intern to join our Service division for a 12 month internship. If you have a passion for procurement and logistics, and thrive in a collaborative environment, this opportunity is for you! This is a 12-month full-time internship position located in Stoney Creek, Ontario, and requires the applicant to be on-site.

Requirements

• Education in procurement, logistics, management, or a related field.
• Proficiency in the Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Advanced proficiency English
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a team player mindset.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of SAP software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support the buyer with tracking creation and order acknowledgement of purchase orders.
• Follow up on delivery confirmations and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate the team to ensure open PO’s are being closed in a timely manner, clearing backlog of Purchase orders.
• Promote and implement continuous improvement of procedures and processes.
• Ensure Vendors and supplier accounts are in good standing. Payment is made on time working with vendors as well as requisitioners.
• Help resolve supplier quality issues and support the SCM function in negotiating pricing.
