About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Buyer III to support research and development efforts for Counter-Unmanned Systems (C-UxS) programs at NSWC Crane. The role involves purchasing materials, supplies, and services, evaluating and negotiating with suppliers, following orders through completion, resolving supplier issues, and assessing supplier capabilities and performance. The position is described as requiring substantial job knowledge and independent judgment to address complex problems, with limited supervision on routine work. Requirements

Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience, or a master's degree and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Active U.S. government Secret security clearance.
U.S. citizenship is required to maintain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Purchase a variety of materials, supplies, and services.
Evaluate bids, select and recommend suppliers, and negotiate price, delivery, quality, and service.
Follow up on awards through completion of orders.
Negotiate and settle supplier matters involving damage claims, rejections, losses, returns, over shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
Conduct supplier site visits and assess suppliers' production capability, performance, and delivery.
