About The Position

The Buyer I is accountable for completing work assignments as required to meet business demand and accelerate professional development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge of ERP systems and reporting
  • Technical knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • High organization skills in managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be self-motivated and work well without direct supervision
  • Must be a provider of excellent customer service
  • Attention to detail
  • Identify, analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Organize effectively, prioritize and manage time
  • Work and communicate professionally, verbally, and in written form with internal and external customers
  • Ability to take initiative and drive through to completion

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with procurement team and designated business unit(s) for purchasing needs
  • Support procurement activities and projects through data gathering and analysis
  • Assist in projects to develop solutions to specific problem areas
  • Support request for quotes as needed
  • Create, process and track purchasing requests and quotes in ERP or another tool
  • Manage open purchase orders, troubleshoot issues and report out status
  • Assist procurement team and accounts payable in invoice reconciliation
  • Correct discrepancies between purchase orders and supplier invoices in a timely manner
  • Monitor on time delivery and expedite as required to meet production demand
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
