About The Position

Incora is seeking a Chemical Buyer for an intermediary-to-advanced purchasing role serving complex, high-volume customers. The position manages purchasing, pricing, lead-time logistics, and on-time product delivery, while applying procurement experience, business judgment, customer care, and communication skills. The role involves direct interaction with customers, suppliers, and employees across departments, with a focus on resolving complex client issues and improving customer satisfaction. The Buyer supports chemical procurement services by managing purchasing activity, supplier relationships, requisitions, quotes, purchase orders, delivery and quality issues, and customer contract requirements. The role also monitors supplier performance and open purchase orders, coordinates logistics, and ensures products reach the correct locations while meeting EH&S requirements. Requirements

Past procurement experience.
Strong customer care and communication skills.
Sound business acumen.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience using Copilot or other AI tools to enhance productivity.
Ability to work positively with internal and external clients.
Ability to manage complex chemical purchasing activities and customer service issues.

Responsibilities

Organize and monitor complex chemical purchasing activities for high-volume clients.
Monitor market trends in assigned categories, including sourcing strategy, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations.
Identify, qualify, and introduce alternate chemical supply sources to improve cost, quality, responsiveness, and reliability.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to assess supplier performance in delivered cost, quality, service, and innovation.
Review incoming requisitions for accuracy and completeness and resolve issues with the appropriate department.
Obtain competitive supplier pricing, availability, terms, and delivery schedules; evaluate quotes and recommend awards.
Perform duties accurately and responsively while meeting or exceeding defined performance metrics.
Work with suppliers on procurement, delivery, quality, problem resolution, and material expedites.
Resolve procurement discrepancies by coordinating with customers and suppliers and addressing issues involving invoices, payments, receiving quantities and schedules, inspections, and rejections.
Resolve complex customer service issues and escalate concerns as needed.
Initiate and escalate critical material expedites for open purchase orders to support on-time delivery.
Serve as the primary day-to-day supply chain service contact for internal employees and high-volume clients.
Administer customer contract requirements for contracted chemical procurement services and ensure supplier compliance with site and client requirements.
Maintain a positive company image and high standards of business ethics and integrity.
Respond to requests from managers, hubs, and clients, including product non-conformances and material expedite requests.
Monitor open purchase order reports, identify potential delivery issues, and implement corrective actions.
Execute or escalate purchase logistics, ensuring delivery to the correct locations and compliance with EH&S requirements.
Provide timely customer service responses to client requests and inquiries.
Coordinate with other departments to meet customer requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
