Requirements

  • Proven experience as a butcher, meat cutter, or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of meat cuts, preparation techniques, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to use meat-cutting equipment such as knives, saws, and grinders safely and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations related to meat handling.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to walk and stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Attention to detail, with a focus on product quality and presentation.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of butchering tasks including cutting, grinding, trimming, and portioning various meats such as beef, pork, poultry, lamb, and seafood.
  • Ensure that all meat products meet high-quality standards and are tailored to customer specifications.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Assist with receiving and stocking deliveries.
  • Safely operate and maintain meat-cutting equipment while adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by answering questions, offering recommendations, and fulfilling special orders.
  • Ensure correct labeling and proper temperature storage of all products.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the meat department.
  • Collaborate with the team and store management to achieve sales and inventory goals.
