About The Position

Schneider Electric has a meaningful opportunity available for a Commercial Business Development Specialist for our Power Products division. This role is an individual contributor position designed for a busway product and application subject matter expert who applies strong technical knowledge directly within the commercial process to enable better outcomes for customers, sales teams, and operations. The Busway Commercial Product Specialist will operate at the intersection of product, application, pricing, and quoting, supporting complex opportunities while shaping commercial strategy through insight, expertise, and hands-on engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience working with electrical power distribution products in a technical, commercial, or applications-focused role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in busway systems, power distribution architectures, or closely related electrical infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of how technical decisions impact pricing, margin, manufacturability, and commercial risk.
  • Experience supporting complex customer opportunities through quotation, specification review, or pre-order phases.
  • Ability to work independently as a technical authority within a matrixed organization.

  • Experience supporting data center power distribution solutions.
  • Familiarity with Schneider Electric commercial processes, tools, and governance.
  • Experience collaborating closely with Offer Management, Pricing, Sales, and Manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a busway product and application SME for the Data Center commercial organization.
  • Provide hands-on quotation support for data center projects, ensuring technical correctness, appropriate configuration, and alignment with commercial and operational objectives.
  • Support execution of complex, non-standard, or high-visibility quotations where deep product, application, or system knowledge is required.
  • Translate technical requirements (capacity, redundancy, layout, constructability, lifecycle expectations) into commercially executable busway solutions.
  • Deliver targeted technical and commercial enablement to sales and commercial teams, including training on product capabilities, limitations, and application considerations.
  • Provide expert commercial and technical support for strategic and national Salesforce opportunities involving busway solutions.
  • Participate in pre-order and contract review activities with a focus on technical scope clarity, commercial risk identification, and offer consistency.
  • Support alignment between sales, pricing, offer management, and operations on complex opportunities.
  • Ensure that product selections, configurations, and commercial assumptions are executable and aligned with Schneider Electric standards.
  • Provide direct, opportunity-based feedback to Offer Management and Pricing teams rooted in real market conditions and customer requirements.
  • Identify gaps, friction points, or recurring challenges within the busway offer, pricing structures, or commercial rules.
  • Contribute insights that help inform offer evolution, simplification, or differentiation based on observed customer needs and competitive dynamics.
  • Serve as a technical sounding board for pricing or offer decisions on select strategic opportunities.
  • Analyze quotation and order activity to identify trends related to product mix, configurations, technical complexity, and commercial behavior.
  • Use technical and commercial insight to support decisions that influence the type of business flowing to busway manufacturing plants.
  • Highlight opportunities to guide demand toward preferred products, architectures, or configurations through commercial levers and technical framing.
  • Provide fact-based input to help balance customer needs, plant capability, and profitability.
