The Busser is responsible for removing used tableware between courses and clearing and resetting tables after guests leave. This role promotes and acts in a manner consistent with the mission of The SERG Restaurant Group. Responsibilities include setting tables with clean linens, condiments, or other supplies, and promptly cleaning table tops, chairs, booths, and the floor under and around tables between guests. The Busser also scrapes and stacks dirty dishes, carries them to the kitchen for cleaning, and unloads, sorts, and stacks silverware, dishes, and glassware. They may also carry food, dishes, trays, or silverware from kitchens or supply areas to serving counters, clean up spills, and maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, or trays. Additionally, they clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment, and mop or vacuum floors. The Busser fills beverage or ice dispensers, communicates with servers and hosts to ensure efficient seating and customer service, and obtains service area assignments. They attend all scheduled employee meetings, coordinate with and assist fellow employees, and fill-in for fellow employees where needed. The role also involves serving guests bread, water, and butter, and providing refills, as well as serving food when servers need assistance. Promptly greeting guests, serving ice water, coffee, rolls, or butter, washing glasses or other serving equipment, stocking refrigerating units, and replacing empty beer kegs are also part of the duties. Finally, they carry linens to or from laundry areas.
