The Busperson is responsible for promoting the image of the restaurant by displaying impeccable manners, diplomacy, and tact towards guests. This role involves maintaining a constant flow of communication with and to the team, setting up tables, removing dirty dishes, sorting and exchanging soiled linen, and welcoming, greeting, and seating guests. The Busperson must be able to listen and follow up on guest requests, clean and replenish guest supplies, restock stations, prepare the bread station, and polish glassware, chinaware, and cutlery. Additionally, they will assist with service as needed, clean stations and floors, replenish cupboards, restock and clean the coffee station, and perform related duties and special projects as assigned. The role also includes assisting in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant in all areas, communicating politely and courteously with guests, and communicating any difficulties, guest comments, or other relevant information to their manager. The Busperson establishes and maintains effective employee working relationships, attends daily briefings and training sessions, prepares food and beverage materials and equipment, and restocks the bar during the shift, ensuring the bartender has the necessary tools. They also ensure the working area is always clean, follows proper closing procedures, cleans and restocks the bar, and locks coolers and store rooms. Compliance with all workplace health and safety requirements, including department-specific training, is essential. The Busperson implements hotel and department regulations, policies, and procedures, including House Rules, Health and Safety, Grooming, Quality, Service, and Hygiene standards.
