About The Position

The Busperson is responsible for promoting the image of the restaurant by displaying impeccable manners, diplomacy, and tact towards guests. This role involves maintaining a constant flow of communication with and to the team, setting up tables, removing dirty dishes, sorting and exchanging soiled linen, and welcoming, greeting, and seating guests. The Busperson must be able to listen and follow up on guest requests, clean and replenish guest supplies, restock stations, prepare the bread station, and polish glassware, chinaware, and cutlery. Additionally, they will assist with service as needed, clean stations and floors, replenish cupboards, restock and clean the coffee station, and perform related duties and special projects as assigned. The role also includes assisting in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant in all areas, communicating politely and courteously with guests, and communicating any difficulties, guest comments, or other relevant information to their manager. The Busperson establishes and maintains effective employee working relationships, attends daily briefings and training sessions, prepares food and beverage materials and equipment, and restocks the bar during the shift, ensuring the bartender has the necessary tools. They also ensure the working area is always clean, follows proper closing procedures, cleans and restocks the bar, and locks coolers and store rooms. Compliance with all workplace health and safety requirements, including department-specific training, is essential. The Busperson implements hotel and department regulations, policies, and procedures, including House Rules, Health and Safety, Grooming, Quality, Service, and Hygiene standards.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak and understand English
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Food Hygiene awareness and at least basic training.
  • Ability to communicate in English with guests.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to provide legible written communication.
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow through.
  • Ability to be a clear thinker remains calm and resolves problems using Sound judgment.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work an 8-hr shift in all types of conditions pertinent to the job.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up tables according to standard
  • Removes dirty dishes from tables
  • Sorts and exchanges soiled linen.
  • Welcomes, greets and seats all guest when needed
  • Ability to listen and follow up to all guest requests
  • Cleans and replenishes guest supplies.
  • Restocks stations throughout the day as needed
  • Prepares bread station in the pantry (AM) or outside (PM).
  • Polishes glassware, chinaware, cutlery, etc.
  • Assist with the service when possible and/or as needed.
  • After each meal clean properly the station and floor as needed.
  • Replenish cupboards with tablecloths, silverware, glasses etc.
  • Restock coffee station with cups and clean it after each shift.
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, including any department specific training regarding equipment and procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant in all areas.
  • Communicates politely and display courtesy to guests.
  • Communicates to his/her manager any difficulties, guest comment and other relevant information.
  • Establishes and maintains effective employee working relationships.
  • Attends and participates in daily briefings and other meetings as scheduled.
  • Attends and participates in training sessions as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
  • Helps a Bartender to produce beverages according to the standard recipes and to control the issuing of beverages.
  • Communicates to his/her superior any difficulties, guest comment and other relevant information.
  • Prepares food & beverage material and equipment needed for the service in advance
  • Continues to restock the Bar during the shift and ensures Bartender has all the tools needed throughout the night.
  • Ensure working area is always clean
  • Follows proper closing procedure: Cleans & restocks the Bar after last call and ensure it is ready to use for the next morning. Locks coolers & store rooms by the end of the shift.
  • Follows proper key handling procedure
  • Performs duties noted on the daily tasks & cleaning schedule
  • Implements the hotel and department regulations, policies and procedures including but not limited to: House Rules and Regulation, Health and Safety, Grooming, Quality, Service, Hygiene and Cleanliness.
