The Asheville Hot Section operations is seeking a high-energy, dynamic team leader for a Grind Business Unit Leader (BUL) Role.

Requirements

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and communicate with peers, customers, and clients.
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles
  • Understanding and ability to drive quality and customer satisfaction
  • Self-directed, quick learner, track record of proven results
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in engineering, operations, business, or a technical field with 6+ years of aerospace operations experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, business, or a technical field with 12+ years of aerospace operations experience

Responsibilities

  • Drive exceptional performance in all key metrics: Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S), quality, delivery, cost reduction, and fostering employee engagement.
  • Manage and coach work area supervisors responsible for supervising approximately 100 hourly employees.
  • Build a responsive and flexible team, empowering employees from supervisors to operators.
  • Understand and ultimately exceed customer expectations.
  • Lead EH&S initiatives, continuous process improvement opportunities, hourly staff planning, and critical resource allocation to ensure business metrics are met.
  • Assist in the development of strategic planning, including forecasts, financial planning, training, and capital expenditures.
  • Establish work schedules considering customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities.
  • Work dedicatedly to address issues and engage the workforce in achieving business unit goals.
  • Hold employees accountable while maintaining key working relationships.
  • Drive a world-class safety culture and respond promptly to all EH&S requirements.
  • Develop monthly delivery plans that align with customer needs and satisfy financial obligations.
  • Provide oversight over the supplier value stream.
