About The Position

The Business Travel Sales Manager is responsible for the solicitation, sale, and contracting of guest rooms for assigned markets, aligning sales efforts with transient demand patterns to optimize revenue and profitability while ensuring guest and client satisfaction. The Business Travel Sales Manager will report to the Director of Sales & Marketing on property as well as to the Regional Director of Sales. Represent the hotel in the marketplace by building strong client relationships and promoting the hotel’s value proposition. Fully develop Corporate Transient market segments (Local Negotiated, Key Negotiated, Consortia, and Government) and achieve room night and revenue goals. Emphasize higher rated, less price sensitive business traveling on shoulder days of the week, as prescribed by individual hotels. Maintain weekly telephone, outside solicitation, and travel agency presentations. Engage clients through in-person events and on-property hotel activations. Proactive sales efforts to include in person meetings, prospecting via phone and email solicitation. Monitor account production and proactively implement strategies to ensure performance meets or exceeds targets. Strong understanding of market trends and how they impact business demands. Develop new accounts and collaborate with the sales team to identify additional group and catering opportunities. Maintain growth of existing accounts and seek to understand all layers of business. Assist in development of additional segments such as group and catering. Stay current with and adhere to all sales office procedures and systems, ensuring all sales activities and account information are accurately recorded in the property CRM. Participate in and present in weekly marketing and room merchandising meetings, monthly sales meetings, stand up daily and monthly sales meetings assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing & Regional Sales Director. Selling responsibility will be associated with this role. Must be able to understand other aspects of sales including group and catering.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ hotel sales experience required.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conducts oneself in a professional, pleasant and energetic manner.

  • Maintains a friendly & cohesive work environment with crew, internal departments & guests.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, organization, and computer skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Delphi, Agency 360, Opera PMS.
