Business Technology Lead

About The Position

The Business Technology Lead is responsible for evaluating, selecting, and delivering technology solutions that address business-identified needs across the organization. This role operates as a blend of Business Analyst (30%) and Project Manager (70%), working closely with business units to understand requirements, assess solution options (internal systems vs. external vendors), and lead end-to-end implementation. This role focuses on translating business requests into structured solutions and ensuring successful delivery through internal teams and third-party partners. Reporting to the IT Director, the Business Technology Lead ensures that initiatives are well-defined, properly scoped, and executed efficiently, while aligning with organizational standards and priorities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience delivering technology or business system implementations
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple initiatives
  • Ability to translate business needs into practical technology solutions
  • Experience working with external vendors and SaaS solutions
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills
  • Experience with change management and user adoption

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business units to intake, clarify, and document technology requests
  • Translate business needs into structured requirements and solution options
  • Assess feasibility using existing systems, new tools, or external vendors
  • Develop clear business cases, timelines, and implementation approaches
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives from intake through implementation
  • Manage scope, timelines, risks, and stakeholder expectations across multiple concurrent projects
  • Coordinate internal resources and external vendors to ensure successful delivery
  • Ensure solutions are implemented on time, within scope, and aligned with requirements
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend external vendors and solutions where appropriate
  • Lead vendor selection processes including demos, RFPs, and contract alignment
  • Manage vendor performance and hold partners accountable for delivery outcomes
  • Ensure solutions are adopted effectively through structured rollout and training
  • Partner with business leads to embed new processes into day-to-day operations
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, communication, and rollout planning
  • Work with leadership to prioritize initiatives across the organization
  • Ensure each project has clearly defined goals, expected outcomes, and accountability
  • Monitor progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess impact and identify improvements
