About The Position

Collegiate Charter School of Lowell (CCSL) is seeking a dedicated Business Teacher for its high school. The primary courses will include Personal Finance, Intro to Business, and Marketing, with the possibility of teaching additional elective courses. This position offers flexibility and can be either part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate's availability. CCSL is a tuition-free public charter academy committed to providing a high-quality, academically challenging education in a safe and structured environment for a diverse student body from K-12. Requirements

  • Master's degree in special education required.
  • Commitment to ensuring academic success for all students.
  • Knowledge of special education law as it relates to the IEP process and FAPE.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply student performance data to instructional planning and execution.
  • ESE License: Students with and without Disabilities, 9-12 and SEI Endorsement.
  • OR Passing the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL), including a passing score on the Communication and Literacy Skills test and a passing score on the relevant subject matter knowledge test(s).

Responsibilities

  • Teach Personal Finance, Intro to Business, and Marketing courses.
  • Potentially teach additional elective courses.
  • Provide instruction to multiple classes/grades.
  • Supervise students during non-instructional duties such as proctoring exams, recess, or lunch.
  • Lead clubs, groups, or activities.
  • Share special talents or hobbies with students.
  • Tutor students struggling with specific concepts or subjects.
  • Foster academic excellence and support students' social and emotional well-being.
  • Create an inclusive classroom where every student feels respected, valued, and empowered.
  • Use engaging, student-centered teaching strategies to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Take on leadership roles within the school community.
  • Reflect on practice, seek feedback, and engage in professional development.
  • Assist special education students with specifically designed instruction to ensure access to education.
  • Communicate knowledge and skills to students in an interesting, stimulating, and effective manner.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional methodologies and curriculum resources.
  • Administer student assessments and plan instruction based on assessment data.
  • Integrate technology into teaching and professional activities.
  • Participate in the pre-referral process of special education.
  • Prepare individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with school-based related service providers.
  • Collaborate with the team on curriculum and student needs.
  • Assess educational needs of students using standardized tools, running records, and informal assessments.
  • Maintain complete records of reevaluation periods, required student documentation, and parent communication.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to students as needed.
  • Implement school, district, and department policies.
  • Create and manage effective communication with parents of special education students.
  • Communicate with parents professionally and continuously regarding student progress.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
