About The Position

Neat's Business Systems team is responsible for the infrastructure that supports the company's sales, billing, and customer support operations, including Salesforce, NetSuite, and their integrations. This team serves approximately 400 internal users and balances daily support with essential systems maintenance. This role is pivotal in transforming the business systems team's operations by implementing software engineering practices and methodologies. As an early member, you will significantly influence the technical architecture, development operations, and long-term engineering strategy. The opportunity involves architecting, building, and maintaining solutions across Salesforce, NetSuite, and their integrated ecosystem, offering a greenfield development environment where you will own key technology and architectural decisions. Utilizing modern development tools, you will enhance engineering efficiency while maintaining end-to-end ownership, ensuring all solutions meet high standards for quality, security, and production readiness. Initial projects include developing a skill-based quoting agent for a new quoting workflow and engineering the subscription and entitlement engine for the Pulse commercial framework. Collaboration with the Business Systems Product Manager and technical peers will be crucial for translating strategic business requirements into scalable and resilient architectures.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of commercial software development experience, including experience with enterprise architectures like Salesforce or NetSuite.
• Deep proficiency in core computer science fundamentals, including system design, data modeling, and security design patterns.
• Critical technical judgment to audit AI-generated code rigorously for performance, edge cases, and architectural integrity before deployment.
• Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, drive alignment, and deliver scalable technical solutions from high-level operational concepts.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical industry experience.
• Experience designing 'defensive' system architectures—building for error handling, auditability, and observability, specifically for scenarios where manual operational intervention is required.
• A collaborative mindset that values the speed of low-code platforms while maintaining the rigor of traditional software engineering. You are comfortable bridging the gap between 'out-of-the-box' configuration and custom code.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver production-grade code across Apex, LWC, SuiteScript, and middleware solutions, enforcing rigorous architecture and security standards.
• Engineer robust automation pipelines and resilient API integrations spanning Salesforce, NetSuite, and core enterprise systems.
• Synthesize complex feedback from key stakeholders into iterative system enhancements and clear product roadmap contributions.
• Establish and enforce technical standards, security guardrails, and code reviews, ensuring full production readiness across all deliverables.
• Maintain thorough architecture and technical documentation to ensure long-term maintainability, scalability, and knowledge transfer across the organization.
• Engineer and own complex subscription and entitlement engines, managing high-stakes logic for proration, true-forward calculations, and co-term renewal cycles across Salesforce, NetSuite, and the Pulse platform.
• Translate complex commercial policy into technical logic, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders (Finance, Sales Operations, Customer Success) to ensure the system output aligns with business and financial requirements.
