About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with a technical aptitude to join the Royal Tyrrell Museum, one of Alberta’s premier cultural attractions. The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology is an internationally recognized public and scientific institution, mandated to collect, preserve, protect, present, and interpret palaeontological history - with a particular emphasis on Alberta’s rich fossil heritage. As a key team member working collaboratively across the Museum, you will play an important role in supporting and advancing these institutional objectives. Reporting to the Director, Operations and Finance, you will work independently as the Business Systems Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for administering the Museum’s ticketing system and point-of-sale (POS) hardware, serving as the primary on-site information technology contact, and overseeing the lifecycle management of hardware and software assets. You will also support and enhance system integrations, including the use of emerging tools such as artificial intelligence, to improve operational effectiveness. In addition, the role provides audio/visual technical support for Museum events.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and two years of related experience
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using SharePoint to manage and access information
  • Strong process-oriented mindset with a proactive, solutions-focused approach to identifying issues and implementing effective technical solutions
  • Ability to assess business needs and translate them into practical system or process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail and service quality

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of the Advanced Ticket Management Software (ATMS+)
  • Familiarity with the Alberta Government IT framework and policies
  • Knowledge of 1GX software
  • Familiarity with the Payment Card Industry policies
