About The Position

At Select Health, the Business Systems Configuration Analyst III is responsible to analyze, design, configure, test, implement and support healthcare platform software configuration through an understanding of business requirements as well as technical knowledge of the systems. Using relational databases and SQL scripting along with complex user interfaces, this role works mostly independently or as the subject matter exert to a team, and generally performs highly complex assignments. This level may work across multiple areas or platforms and may interact with leaders and caregivers across the system.

Requirements

  • Eight years of experience in healthcare, business analysis, or information systems
  • Three years of technical experience with a healthcare platform as a configuration analyst, business or project analyst, or in information systems
  • Intermediate proficiency to demonstrate skills with the Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relational database concepts and ability to create and modify complex SQL scripts.
  • Willing to work outside core business hours to meet business needs

Responsibilities

  • Reviews change requests to ensure consistency and compatibility with existing systems.
  • Troubleshoots configuration issues, and identifies modifications needed to resolve.
  • Leverages configuration systems, business knowledge, and effective communication skills to implement required business functions with turn-around time within established SLAs.
  • Analyzes complex business requirements and performs system configuration analysis, design, coding, and unit testing following established processes, standards, and procedures.
  • Develops prototype configuration to support solutions.
  • Analyzes and designs configuration needed to meet changing regulatory requirements.
  • Escalates issues appropriately and resolves escalated issues in the manner and timeframe directed and works to resolve issues that are escalated to this level.
  • Provides estimates with a reasonable level of accuracy to successfully complete activities.
  • Identifies situations where configuration cannot fully meet the requirements. Works with management to identify the associated business processes needed.
  • Provides concise status updates in huddles and regularly documents the status of requests within a change management system according to department processes.
  • Works independently on assignments as well as collaborating with a team.
  • May take the lead on or assist with projects at the direction of management.
  • Acquires and maintains an understanding of the technical and functional architecture of assigned systems and acts as a subject matter expert to others.
  • Acts as a trainer and mentor to others, leads projects, and performs other tasks as assigned.
  • Responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational and technological risks.
  • Provides leadership to team members and peers, which could include training, guidance, assistance, mentoring, collaboration and relationship building.
  • Articulates recommendations and viewpoints to various levels of personnel including, but not limited to peers and Senior Management within the organization as well as external vendors and/or clients.
  • Leads review of benefits or provider reimbursement and identifies and designs appropriate changes.
  • Performs quality audits on configuration at the direction of department management.
