Business Systems Analyst (IT)

INB, N.A.Springfield, IL
$70,000 - $105,000Hybrid

About The Position

INB is building a business-systems organization that provides clear ownership, strategic direction and responsive support for the Bank's critical technology platforms. We are recruiting Business Systems Analysts for a unique growth opportunity: a defined path to owning a platform portfolio, working directly with and reporting to the Director, Business Systems & Platform Strategy. This role is built for an ambitious, take-charge professional who wants ownership and responsibility early. You will start by partnering closely with the Director on an assigned platform portfolio and are expected to move quickly toward independent ownership — including vendor relationships, roadmap decisions and business partnership — becoming a trusted, credible partner to management and cross-functional counterparts within the bank. The role combines financial-services knowledge with business analysis, process improvement, vendor management, implementation leadership, data and integration fluency, testing discipline and change enablement. Specific product experience is helpful but not required for a candidate who demonstrates strong learning agility, sound judgment and a proactive, ownership-oriented mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in financial-services technology, business systems, business analysis, operations or a related role.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex financial products, applications and operating processes quickly.
  • Experience owning or supporting vendor applications, integrations, implementations, upgrades or production issues.
  • Strong business analysis, process-design, testing, documentation, project-coordination and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Ability to understand data flows, reconcile issues, evaluate controls and communicate effectively and confidently with business, technical and executive audiences.
  • A demonstrated track record of taking ownership quickly, building credibility with senior stakeholders, and thriving with significant early responsibility.
  • Evidence of initiative, curiosity, accountability, sound judgment and a proactive, take-charge orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in one or more of the listed platform portfolios or related financial services functions.
  • Experience leading a platform implementation, migration, integration or operational transformation.
  • Familiarity with vendor risk, information security and business continuity practices.
  • Experience implementing workflow automation, analytics, intelligent document processing or AI-enabled business capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the platform contact for assigned business applications, integrations and related operational processes, partnering closely with the Director and operational partners to quickly assume full ownership as you demonstrate readiness.
  • Contribute to, and ultimately own, multi-year platform roadmaps aligned with business strategy, customer experience and operating priorities.
  • Manage application configuration, releases, upgrades, integrations, entitlements, issue resolution and lifecycle planning in coordination with Technology and vendors.
  • Monitor system health, utilization, service performance and adoption; identify opportunities to simplify the environment and increase value from existing capabilities.
  • Maintain current inventories of applications, interfaces, data exchanges, owners, critical processes and vendor dependencies.
  • Develop a strong understanding of assigned business products, operations, customer needs and strategic priorities — quickly enough to become a credible, trusted partner to business and technology leaders.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements, process designs, prioritized enhancements and implementation plans.
  • Manage system utilization analysis of platforms to ensure platform optimization aligns with business unit goals.
  • Analyze and improve workflows to increase efficiency, strengthen controls, reduce friction and improve employee and customer experience.
  • Promote standardized processes while recognizing legitimate differences among products, customers and operating areas.
  • Develop business cases and measure outcomes through adoption, capacity, service quality, cost, revenue support and risk reduction.
  • Lead or coordinate implementations, upgrades, migrations and integrations for assigned platforms from requirements through stabilization.
  • Develop project plans, readiness criteria, test strategies, data-validation procedures, issue logs, implementation activities and post-production support plans.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing and obtain documented business approval before production changes.
  • Develop or coordinate procedures, training, communications and adoption plans for new capabilities and process changes.
  • Partner with the PMO and other technology teams on schedules, dependencies, risks, resources and executive reporting.
  • Understand and document data flows among assigned platforms, upstream and downstream systems, reporting tools and external providers.
  • Partner with Finance and business owners to improve data quality, reconciliation, ownership, lineage and reporting consistency.
  • Coordinate interfaces, file exchanges, APIs and vendor integrations, including monitoring and resolution of failed or incomplete data movement.
  • Support accurate, timely and secure reporting for customers, employees and management.
  • Own the day-to-day management of assigned vendor relationships, including service delivery, support cases, SLAs, product roadmaps, releases, escalations and performance reviews.
  • Gain competitive market knowledge to support vendor selection, relationship management, contract evaluation and renewals.
  • Ensure assigned platforms have appropriate procedures for access administration, change management, incident response, business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Maintain complete, well-organized documentation for system ownership, configurations, testing, issues and key decisions.
  • Partner with the Bank's control functions as needed to address security, privacy and operational requirements.
  • Identify and prioritize practical uses of AI, workflow automation, document intelligence, analytics and emerging capabilities within assigned business processes.
  • Evaluate capabilities embedded in existing platforms and third-party solutions; lead business cases, proof-of-concept testing, implementation, training and benefits measurement.
  • Partner with the Director and control functions as needed on data protection and vendor due-diligence considerations.
