About The Position

The Expert Business System Specialist serves as the single front door and technical authority for Power Platform demand within the Procurement organization. This role is responsible for intake, prioritization, design, development, delivery, and lifecycle management of Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. This is a hands-on expert role requiring deep technical proficiency, strong business partnership skills, and disciplined execution within a regulated enterprise environment. The individual partners closely with Procurement stakeholders, IT, and governance teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, auditable, and aligned to Procurement strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of experience in procurement or other job-related discipline
  • Advanced, hands‑on expertise in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, performance optimization, enterprise reporting patterns)
  • Advanced, hands‑on expertise in Power Apps (complex apps, validations, integrations, role‑based security)
  • Advanced, hands‑on expertise in Power Automate (enterprise workflows, approvals, integrations, error handling)
  • Demonstrated experience owning end‑to‑end solution delivery, from intake through production support.
  • Strong requirements elicitation, stakeholder communication, and prioritization skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting or working within Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, or Operations.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Ariba, or other enterprise systems commonly integrated with the Power Platform.
  • Experience designing intake models, backlogs, or operating frameworks for digital delivery teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the end‑to‑end intake process for Power Platform requests across Procurement, serving as the primary point of contact for dashboards, apps, and automations.
  • Translate ambiguous business requests into clear problem statements, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and delivery plans.
  • Assess requests for feasibility, complexity, risk, and value; recommend appropriate solutions (Power BI vs Power Apps vs Power Automate vs alternative tools).
  • Drive prioritization and backlog management in partnership with Procurement leadership, balancing new demand with sustainment and enhancement work.
  • Design, build, test, and deploy enterprise‑grade Power Platform solutions, including Power BI dashboards and semantic models (performance‑optimized, secure, and reusable), Power Apps (complex forms, multi‑step workflows, role‑based experiences), and Power Automate flows (robust automations, integrations, approvals, and exception handling).
  • Ensure solutions follow standard design patterns, naming conventions, and documentation practices to support maintainability and scale.
  • Lead user acceptance testing, production readiness, and post‑deployment stabilization.
  • Ensure all Power Platform solutions comply with Procurement governance, SOX controls, data security, and audit requirements.
  • Act as an escalation point for production issues, performance risks, and control gaps related to Power Platform assets.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Procurement leaders and business partners, helping them understand what is possible and what is scalable on the Power Platform.
  • Coach and mentor other team members on Power Platform best practices, fostering consistency and reducing single points of failure.
  • Monitor demand trends, solution usage, and pain points to identify opportunities for standardization, automation, and reuse.
  • Stay current on Power Platform enhancements and industry best practices, translating new capabilities into practical Procurement use cases.
