About The Position

The Business Services Representative is responsible for the development and implementation of a marketing plan, and for job development and training activities among employer organizations. This role is also responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures. The position requires travel and involves experiencing extreme customer service, working with job/career seekers to ensure they have the skills and resources to find and maintain self-sustaining employment, and helping employers locate the talent they need. Success is measured by meeting goals and placing customers into employment.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience facilitating committee meetings.
  • Experience making presentations to and establishing relationships with a variety of associations, employer groups, etc.
  • Experience providing workforce-related technical assistance to employers.
  • Experience conducting research.
  • Experience analyzing systems and making continuous improvement recommendations in order to meet or exceed established outcomes.
  • Experience working with Reemployment and Employer Engagement measures.
  • Experience developing worksites for Work Experience, Subsidized Employment and On the Job training contracts.
  • Strong computer skills including ASSET and Job Center of Wisconsin.
  • Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to read and understand performance reports.
  • Valid driver's license and adequate vehicle insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation of new Business Services programs and services.
  • Establish and maintain professional business relationships with local businesses through meetings and telephone contact to develop job orders and other employment arrangements.
  • Make presentations to employers and program participants about employment opportunities and labor market information.
  • Organize and coordinate local job fairs.
  • Conduct employer follow-up to determine the quality of services rendered and the quality and quantity of referrals.
  • Develop agreements with businesses for On-the-Job Training, Subsidized Employment, and Work Experience, and other programs as needed.
  • Respond to and resolve local business needs through the provision of services available through the Job Center of Wisconsin network.
  • Respond to the needs of the Center by providing quality job orders for the unique population of customers at each center.
  • Direct, control, and supervise the work activity of business services staff, identify and fill open positions in a timely manner, hire and promote employees based on sound decision-making ability, evaluate and recommend personnel actions fairly and quickly, deliver timely coaching and conduct employee evaluations when scheduled.
