Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • 2 years of progressively responsible administrative experience in an academic, healthcare, or business environment with responsibility for managing budgets, grants, contracts, or other funding sources (for Senior Professional)
  • 3 years of progressively responsible administrative experience in an academic, healthcare, or business environment with responsibility for managing budgets, grants, contracts, or other funding sources (for Principal Professional)
  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis

  • A master’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support business proposals and program initiatives
  • Assist with strategic planning and community engagement efforts
  • Support faculty and fellows in advancing section goals and projects
  • Manage section finances, budgets, and funding allocations
  • Maintain accurate financial records and reports
  • Monitor expenditures and support funding management activities
  • Assist with grant application preparation and submission
  • Prepare budgets and controls/monitors revenue and expenditure activity for each source of funds in conjunction with department leadership, including adherence to award restrictions
  • Track, prepare, and present reports for the department, grant administrators and external stakeholders annually and as requested
  • Responsible for supporting various grant submissions, while working with the department’s pre and post award team
  • Liaise with leadership of local and national Behavioral nonprofit groups
  • Communicate directly with funding managers, including state, federal, and industry-level sponsors
  • Prepare budget reports for internal and external constituents
  • Research, prepare, manage, and submit grant proposals and reports for future and continued funding of the Behavioral Section
  • Advise and collaborate with Behavioral Section faculty leadership on funding source direction as it relates to grant budgets, applications, allowable costs, and budget restrictions
  • Plan and implement program development initiatives to include faculty recruitment, research expansion, specialty clinic operations, and patient education events
  • Manage and coordinate provider’s calendars to include recurring meetings, professional consultations, closing clinic schedule during vacation and conference days, etc.
  • Route and track CU Innovations and/or CU Medicine contracts through entire life cycle.
  • Arrange meetings, conferences and travel as needed (i.e., room reservation, agenda, flyer/handout preparation, presenting, taking meeting minutes, flight, hotel and rental care reservations, etc.)
  • Complete all necessary onboarding tasks for CU, UCH, affiliate institutions, and scheduling for academic year
  • Approve Behavioral clinic schedule for Neurology residents and medical students, and develop fellows rotating schedule with Behavioral Section
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with key external stakeholders including individuals and community organizations
  • Lead community outreach initiative by developing and maintaining approaches to engage and evaluate community needs
  • Facilitate and manage large educational or conference events: Content development, Budget management and fund solicitation (grants and sponsorships), Organizational logistics (venue, timing, and staffing events), Audit events based on attendee feedback and develop and implement improvements as needed
  • Identify and facilitate community engagement opportunities locally, regionally, and nationally, audiences include patients, care partners, providers, and interested community members
  • Identify, develop, and implement techniques to improve and streamline marketing processes
  • Assist in re-credentialing and maintenance of licensure and board certification requirements
  • When needed, interface between patient and provider for scheduling
  • Follow up on patient care issues
  • Interface with clinic leadership on template building and access improvement
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate clinician learner programs to support ongoing Behavioral Section faculty and staff and ensure learners meet their respective program’s competences and expectations
  • Partner with higher education organizations (CU and non-CU) to develop robust clinician learner internships and experiences within the Behavioral Section
  • Work closely with leadership to develop project plans for new innovation. This includes defining the problem/opportunity and the scope, objectives, deliverables, risks, strategies, timeline, resources required, project team requirements, tasks and responsibilities
  • Delegate project related duties as necessary to administrative staff and students and collaborate with other division and group members to accomplish program and project goals
  • Attend weekly Behavioral Section clinical research and patient care conferences, presenting summary of key administrative updates, grant updates, clinical finance updates, staffing and recruitment updates, and any other information to better improve the Behavioral Section
  • Proofread, format and prepare manuscripts, grant applications, documents and letters
  • Assist with reference management in manuscripts and grant applications
  • Compile Epic ‘SlicerDicer’ reports of various patient cohorts for research or grant work
  • Other duties as assigned
