As a Business Services Officer III, you’ll guide some of Truliant’s largest and most complex commercial relationships, pairing advanced credit judgment with thoughtful, full-service financial solutions. This role is a strong fit for an experienced commercial lender who enjoys building markets, solving complex challenges, and serving as a trusted resource to colleagues and business members. What you’ll do: You’ll own sophisticated commercial real estate relationships from initial opportunity through closing and ongoing portfolio management. Working with credit, legal, operations, and partners across Truliant, you’ll structure sound solutions, grow profitable relationships, protect portfolio quality, and help strengthen the capabilities of the broader commercial banking team.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressively responsible commercial real estate lending experience, including financial statement and collateral analysis, complex loan structuring and approval, management of large or complex portfolios, new relationship growth, and presentation of larger credit requests to senior credit authorities or a loan committee.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a senior resource or mentor to other lenders.
  • Advanced knowledge of investor and owner-occupied commercial real estate lending, including structuring, pricing, negotiation, underwriting partnership, covenant development, collateral analysis, guarantor evaluation, and ongoing credit management.
  • Ability to evaluate borrower financial condition, repayment sources, collateral, credit risk, and relationship profitability and translate findings into clear recommendations and risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Strong business-development, presentation, written and verbal communication, executive-level influence, negotiation, and cross-functional partnership skills.
  • Ability to organize complex work, manage competing priorities, maintain close attention to detail, and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Comfortable influencing without direct authority, working with team members at different levels of the organization, adapting priorities as business needs change, and maintaining a strong commitment to excellent member service.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree.
  • Advanced commercial credit training, a financial analysis certification, or equivalent expertise in complex commercial lending, credit risk management, and relationship profitability.
  • Extensive experience in a financial services or business-development environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex commercial real estate opportunities, including borrower analysis, structuring, pricing, negotiation, credit presentation, documentation coordination, closing support, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Build and expand high-value relationships through disciplined business development, market outreach, centers of influence, and collaboration with branch, deposit, treasury, SBA, consumer, mortgage, wealth, and other internal partners.
  • Monitor complex portfolios for performance, covenant compliance, concentration risk, financial reporting, annual reviews, and emerging credit concerns while mentoring lenders and contributing to lending strategy, policy, products, and process improvements.
