About The Position

This is an opportunity for an experienced Manager to join a progressive boutique accounting and advisory firm in Parkville. The role has been created due to continued expansion and offers a strong mix of portfolio ownership, client management, technical review, team leadership and advisory involvement. You will work closely with the Partners, manage your portfolio with a high level of autonomy and support a team delivering work for large, complex clients in Australia and overseas. This role will suit someone who wants a senior client-facing position in a contemporary firm with strong systems, a collaborative culture, and direct access to decision-makers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Australian public practice experience in business services and tax
  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian accounting and tax rules
  • Experience across companies, partnerships, trusts and high net worth individual matters
  • Experience managing client relationships and conducting client meetings
  • Proven leadership capability, including mentoring, feedback and team development
  • Confidence identifying advisory opportunities and broader client needs
  • Strong communication skills and professional presentation
  • Ability to manage workflow, deadlines and team priorities
  • Commercial judgement and a strong client service mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MYOB AE, MYOB AccountRight, Xero and System Release programs will be highly regarded

Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of business services and advisory clients
  • Acting as a key contact for clients and maintaining strong relationships
  • Reviewing financial statements, tax returns and compliance work
  • Advising clients across tax, accounting and broader business matters
  • Supporting business advisory development across the portfolio
  • Identifying risks, opportunities and cross-service needs across the broader firm
  • Leading, mentoring and developing accountants within the team
  • Providing clear feedback, training and performance support
  • Working closely with Partners on workflow, client matters and strategic priorities
  • Maintaining strong technical standards across corporate, trust, partnership and high net worth client work
  • Contributing to operational improvement, client satisfaction and continuous improvement
