About The Position

As a Business Relationship Manager (BRM) – Ontario, you will play a key role in helping Black entrepreneurs access the financing and support they need to grow their businesses. In this client-facing role, you will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of lending clients, identifying new business opportunities, delivering strategic financial advice, and ensuring an exceptional client experience throughout the lending journey. You will combine business development, relationship management, and credit analysis to deliver customized lending solutions while balancing client needs, risk management, and organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in commercial lending, banking, financial services, or a related industry.
  • Strong financial analysis and credit adjudication skills.
  • Demonstrated business development and relationship management experience.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial lending products, credit policies, and risk assessment principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and virtual collaboration tools.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and reporting skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingualism in English and French.
  • Experience working with entrepreneurs, small businesses, or community lending programs.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario business and entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Build, grow, and manage a portfolio of loan clients while developing long-term, trusted relationships.
  • Identify and pursue new business development opportunities to expand FACE's lending portfolio.
  • Deliver exceptional client service by providing proactive, customized financial and business advice tailored to each client's needs.
  • Analyze financial information, assess credit risk, and provide sound recommendations that align with FACE's Credit Policy and the Black Entrepreneurship Loan Fund (BELF) guidelines.
  • Structure, prepare, and present funding recommendations for credit approval.
  • Monitor portfolio performance while identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure a seamless lending experience for applicants and clients.
  • Work closely with Lending Support Analysts and financial institution processing partners to ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and processed efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate client records and support ongoing portfolio reporting and compliance activities.
