About The Position

The Pricing and Business Analyst is a customer‑facing member of the Commercial team, responsible for market modeling, pricing strategy, and commercial evaluation to support Cirba’s strategic growth initiatives. This role works closely with external customers and internal stakeholders to develop market analyses, economic models, business cases, and value propositions for lithium‑ion battery recycling opportunities. Acting as a bridge between technical, operational, finance, and commercial teams, the role supports efforts to secure feedstock with structured proposals across end‑of‑life, production scrap, and energy storage materials. Success in this role requires strong analytical rigor, cross‑functional collaboration, clear communication, and the ability to translate complex market dynamics into actionable commercial strategy.

Requirements

  • Exceptional economic evaluation skills with the ability to interpret technical documentation, customer data, and material composition details with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven capability to manage complex, multi‑stakeholder projects and timelines
  • Well-developed team building and conflict resolution skills
  • Self-starter, motivated to learn, proactively brings ideas and able to take initiative
  • Must exhibit excellent listening, writing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with an adaptable, flexible mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and structured data analysis tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in business management, finance, engineering or sciences.
  • 5+ years of experience in in business management, commercial strategy, or program support

Nice To Haves

  • Prior role in commercial or marketing role supporting highly dynamic product development.
  • Familiar with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and/or battery recycling industry a plus

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain direct relationships with key customers to secure new feedstock opportunities, understanding their priorities, challenges, and objectives, and ensuring proposals are aligned with customer requirements and expectations.
  • Create analytical models and business cases to support pricing decisions, conceptual proposals, and strategic investments, often using incomplete or imperfect data.
  • Perform commercial evaluations of lithium‑ion battery feedstock opportunities in response to RFQs and customer inquiries to align with financial and business objectives.
  • Work closely with technical, operations, logistics, finance and compliance teams to ensure commercial proposals align with processing capabilities and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop clear summaries and presentation materials for internal stakeholders and customers, translating business and operational objectives into commercially actionable insights.
  • Conduct industry and market analyses, including competitor capacities and market positioning, forecasted volume by customer and market segment, battery value chain dynamics, and key metals markets (Li, Ni, Co).
  • Monitor and assess regulatory, technology, and recycling trends by region and supply channel to inform commercial and strategic decision making.
  • Translate market analysis and industry insight into a clear market narrative that shapes Cirba’s commercial strategy and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies and strategic initiatives to position Cirba for success in current and emerging market environments.
  • Responsible for developing a robust and diversified opportunity pipeline to meet our asset utilization requirements and target market segments
  • Develop differentiated value propositions and commercial insights for key accounts based on current and emerging market trends.
  • Build and manage a robust, diversified opportunity pipeline to support asset utilization targets and strategic market segments.
  • Monitor competitive developments and continuously assess Cirba’s market positioning relative to competitors.
  • Present market insights, trends, and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders and senior level leadership to support strategic planning decision making.
  • Operate independently in a complex, fast growing, and evolving recycling market, driving growth through analytical rigor, creativity, and sound judgment.
