About The Position

Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector is currently seeking a Business Planning Analyst level 2 to support on-site our growing business in our Rocket Center, West Virginia location. This position will be located on-site at our Rocket Center, WV location. No remote opportunities are available for this position. The role involves planning program efforts of an organization’s activities, developing information on budget status, workforce level, equipment availability, and other company capabilities. It also includes determining customer requirements and translating these requirements into organizational plans.

Requirements

  • 6 years of experience required. Will consider those having 2 years of work experience with a Bachelors degree; or 0+ years of experience with a masters degree.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams to achieve a common project goal
  • Basic competency in project management skills
  • Ability to engage with customers and define project scope requirements
  • Ability to obtain a secret security clearance. (US Citizen a requirement)
  • Competent in standard Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Good communications and customer engagement skills

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in a science, engineering, or a business program
  • Experience with DOD contracts
  • Active Security Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Assist Program Manager in directing all phases of programs from inception through completion.
  • Assist Program Manager with cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
  • Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract.
  • Leads a cross-functional team of associates with a wide range of skill sets, ensuring roles and responsibilities of all team members are well understood and executed.
  • Ensures program-wide focus on safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules.
  • Identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
  • Manages subcontractor actions and performance.
  • Controls expenditures within limitation of project budget.
  • Develops and manages performance metrics on assigned programs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develops and delivers presentations to management, and other program stakeholders.
  • Performs Risk and Opportunity Management.
