Business Operations

E2BSan Francisco, CA
Hybrid

About The Position

This is the first business operations leadership hire at E2B. The company has scaled from $1M to 8-figure ARR in under a year, raised a Series A, and is now preparing for the next stage of growth. You'll own everything that isn't engineering, GTM, or design. This includes finance ops until our Head of Finance lands, legal admin and contracts, people ops and onboarding, office logistics across San Francisco and Prague, vendor management, and the internal tools that make the company run. This is a hands-on role for the first 6 to 12 months, where you will personally run payroll, negotiate the office lease renewal, and fix the broken Notion. As the company grows, this becomes a COO-track role with a real team underneath you. You'll partner directly with Vasek (CEO) and Tomas (Head of Engineering).

Requirements

  • 6+ years in operations, with at least 2-3 years operating at a Series A or Series B startup that scaled headcount through 30 to 100.
  • Generalist DNA, comfortable owning finance, legal, and rewriting offer letter templates.
  • Strong with numbers, comfortable in spreadsheets, able to read a P&L, and model headcount and burn.
  • Real ownership track record, having personally built or rebuilt at least two of: a payroll process, an offers / equity process, a contracts pipeline, a close cycle, a board reporting cadence, or a vendor management process.
  • Operates at the speed of engineering.
  • Excited to work in person from San Francisco, sitting next to the CEO and leadership team.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior chief-of-staff role at a venture-backed B2B startup.
  • Experience operating across US and EU entities, including EU contractor models, GDPR, and entity setup.
  • Experience scaling people ops and recruiting ops together.
  • Background in B2B SaaS finance, especially with usage-based revenue.
  • Ex-consulting (Bain / McKinsey / BCG) with operating experience since.

Responsibilities

  • Build the operating cadence, including weekly leadership rituals, monthly board prep, and quarterly planning, making ad-hoc processes repeatable.
  • Run people ops end-to-end, covering offers, onboarding, payroll across US and EU entities, benefits administration, equity grants, performance review process, and offboarding. Partner with Talent on recruiting ops where the recruiting machine spills into HR (offers, references, background checks, work authorization).
  • Own legal admin, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, NDAs, and contractor MSAs for EU hires. This involves turning around redlines, managing outside counsel, and maintaining the contract tracker.
  • Run office and team logistics for two offices in two countries, managing two payroll regimes, occasional team offsites, equipment provisioning, and real estate decisions.
  • Own vendor and tool sprawl, managing SaaS bills, renewals, and usage questions, including procurement, security review, and cost optimization.
  • Set up the bench by hiring replacements as the scope grows, including an HR/people lead, a finance hire, and eventually a head of legal, defining those roles and running those searches.

Benefits

  • Full healthcare
  • Vision insurance
  • Dental insurance
