About The Position

TJFACT is seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Business Operations & Surveillance Support Specialist to provide integrated administrative, operational, and technical support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Population Health Surveillance Branch (PHSB) in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is critical in strengthening the Branch’s ability to collect, manage, and analyze public health data by leveraging automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced technology solutions. The ideal candidate will support data-driven decision-making, streamline internal workflows, and enhance surveillance operations in alignment with CDC’s public health mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) + years of experience in administrative, operations, or program support within a federal or public health environment.
  • Experience supporting data collection, reporting, or analytics initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and SharePoint.
  • Experience with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting CDC programs or public health surveillance initiatives (e.g., BRFSS).
  • Familiarity with federal financial processes, including UDO tracking and budget analysis.
  • Experience with travel systems such as Concur or CAMS.
  • Exposure to AI tools, automation platforms, or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of federal records management and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support automated data collection, validation, and integration processes for surveillance activities.
  • Utilize AI-enabled tools to assist with real-time data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
  • Maintain and update surveillance systems to ensure data accuracy, integrity, security, and compliance.
  • Process and track time and attendance for assigned personnel.
  • Coordinate and automate scheduling of meetings, briefings, and stakeholder engagements using Microsoft Office and enterprise tools.
  • Align calendars with reporting cycles, milestones, and program deadlines.
  • Facilitate virtual meetings via Microsoft Teams and Zoom, including transcription, attendance tracking, and documentation of action items.
  • Assist with financial tracking, expenditure monitoring, and resource allocation activities.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards for budget monitoring and forecasting.
  • Review Undelivered Obligations (UDOs) to support financial planning and compliance.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements using CDC systems (e.g., Concur, CAMS), ensuring compliance with federal travel regulations.
  • Support conference planning and participation, including approvals, logistics, and documentation.
  • Maintain organized digital records in compliance with CDC policies and federal records management standards.
  • Manage SharePoint and other collaboration platforms to centralize access to program documentation, reports, and research materials.
  • Track deliverables, reports, and program documentation using automated tools.
  • Oversee office supply inventory and procurement processes.
  • Support analysis of surveillance data to identify trends and inform public health initiatives.
  • Assist in developing automated reports, dashboards, and visualizations using advanced tools.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports, funding documentation, and research outputs.
  • Collect, manage, and analyze Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS)-related data in accordance with CDC SOPs.
  • Support AI-driven analysis to enhance reporting and identify risk factor trends.
  • Maintain time management systems to track project timelines, deliverables, and staff schedules.
  • Ensure accurate processing of time and attendance.
  • Coordinate pre-meeting communications and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Provide on-site and/or virtual operational and administrative support during the Annual Meeting.
  • Develop and distribute meeting materials (agendas, signage, badges, presentation packets).
  • Provide technical support for virtual platforms, including troubleshooting and presenter assistance.
  • Assist with registration, attendee tracking, travel coordination, and communications.
